Class Types
Our instructors work closely with our Physiotherapists and adapt exercises around your specific needs, abilities and range of movements. They are also tailored to accommodate injuries and ailments.
Mat Based
Focuses on improving core strength, flexibility, posture, and overall body control using your own body weight and a mat, without the need for machines or large equipment. It involves a series of low-impact, precise movements performed on the floor, often targeting deep stabilising muscles around the spine, pelvis, and core. At Physio 1 to 1, we use mat-based Pilates as part of rehabilitation to support recovery from injuries, improve movement patterns, and help prevent future pain, especially in the back and neck. It’s suitable for all fitness levels and can be easily adapted to meet individual needs and goals.
Equipment Based
Our equipment-based Pilates class offers a dynamic, full-body workout using specialised apparatus to enhance strength, flexibility, and control. The class features the Reformer machine, which provides resistance through springs and pulleys to support and challenge your movements, improving core strength and posture. We also offer access to the Cadillac machine, the only one available in the local area - ideal for both rehabilitation and advanced training, with a wide range of exercises for mobility, spinal alignment, and muscular balance. Additionally, the Split Pedal Chair targets stability and lower body strength, offering versatile exercises that improve balance and coordination. Suitable for all levels, this studio-based class is perfect for those looking to elevate their Pilates practice with expert guidance and premium equipment.
